We keep going down the street and stop to ask the man who manages the cemetery where to go. Papa returns and reports that he doesn't know English, so I go up to the window and say 2 words: "Franz Kafka?"
"Oh!! Anne! Franz Kafka!" the man nods and proclaims. Then he gets up, comes around and outside and points to us where to go and says, "Yiddish" and signals that it's on the left side.
We laugh because all I did was say 2 words to get our directions [after trying for so long]. "He didn't understand English, so there's no point in trying to speak it to him," I said.
For all curious, Franz Kafka is on the left side by gate #4 and sign marked #22.
