Now that I'm coming home, the gas pedal is going to be down on EVERYTHING. I am delving right into classes...have to get books, etc. all that jazz. And figure out Newport bus schedules since the shuttle is running to and fro...and Bio stuff like research lab and if I have to resubmit my quarterly report and proposal bc there were inconveniences with those before I left...and my work schedule, and I can't do my internship anymore bc I won't have a car...and money issues because I'm paying for my own rent so I need a well-paid job because I have awesome qualifications but no car.
I feel anew, and I have so much inspiration to do so many things, so we'll see what things I can accomplish little by little...like making clothes again, painting, and writing music (and getting on the Dean's Honor List again). I'm a bit worried about moving in and have itty-bittly stressed about that...but wouldn't you if you didn't know for a fact whether you would have help or not? Everything always works out, but that is a legit area to be concerned in...esp. since my sister has to move in to UCLA on the same day and I can't drive anymore so I can't exactly help myself! I have to let myself rely on someone else, and that's a very hard thing to do!

Retro
It's crazy to think that it's almost been 10 days since my last post. I leave tomorrow morning and it's a bittersweet feeling. While I love Paris and have a goal set on owning a place here in the future, vacations while you have other responsibilities to tend to can only last so long. I am absolutely out of money (pulled most of my savings) and it's time to get back to school anyway. The beginning of anything is always a good kind of feeling...whatever may have lapsed, there's always a sense of hope and optimism in a fresh start and a chance to give your all with a clean slate.
I'm moving to Newport when I get back, so no more commuting for me! I'm excited to finally be able to live like a real student again and carve my own experiences and have the young life that I am entitled to...so I look forward to being able to make my own decisions and take responsibility for myself again.
On a different note, I had to partition my time decidedly...so most of it was to upload pics like crazy onto facebook instead of writing posts on here [ my comp is slow:( ]. Thanks for understanding!!

Giving Up (on day-to-day catch ups)
Obviously, I haven't written on here in a while. That's because I've been trying to get albums up onto facebook for everyone to see! I think I'm going to give up on trying to brush up on day-to-day things. I'm just going to write about whatevs.
I never want to leave Paris and it's sad to think that I will in just 2 weeks. That will go by so quickly...I honestly don't even miss the U.S. right now. There's not really anything for me to look forward to there so it's almost like there's no point in me going back. I'm single, so it's not like I have a boyfriend to come back to or anything.
At this point in my life, I would stay in Paris forever if I could...but I have always been the one to put my education first so that is the one thing crucial for me to come back to.
In other cool news, the Pope is here in Paris! We saw him yesterday when he came to Notre Dame but didn't go to mass at Les Invalides this morning....way too crowded...200,000 people. Crazy. Le Pape!

Day 4 Prague: Farewell!
Our train left at 7pm, so we were able to spend all day in Prague! So it turns out that the street we walked down before on the way to the post that looked like they were renovating it and moving in new stores ACTUALLY ended up being the spot for filming some movie!!
I realized it right away and no one believed me, so I told them that I would prove it to them and took pics to save for evidence later after I could later research what was going on. Well, it turns out that walking further down later, it IS movie filming going on and I explain to my dad that what we saw the other day must have been set-building.
I wonder what movie this is. Pretty cool.

my 1st picture of proof. I picked up on all the signs right away! The girl, her badge, her talkie, the costumes, old cars, etc etc closed roads...even saw some filming equipment duhhh

Day 3 Racist Encounter
Day 3 in Prague was a racist experience with an ignorant pig. If you ever get the chance to go to Prague, don't support this arse.
Right across Charles' Bridge, 20 Mala Strana, Praha 1 (Souvenir Shop)
But do support these nice guys: Before you cross the bridge, on the left side by the pedestrian crossing is a pedestrian tunnel with tunnel shops lined on both sides. The guys are intimidating at first bc they just stand there and look at you, but they ended up being sooooooooo extremely nice! Quite the opposite of the ignorant guy with the store. Everytime you encounter someone mean or racist or ignorant (or all) who spoils the mood and upsets you, it generally makes you even more want to support the vendors and people who are kind.

Excerpt from Journal; Day 2
We keep going down the street and stop to ask the man who manages the cemetery where to go. Papa returns and reports that he doesn't know English, so I go up to the window and say 2 words: "Franz Kafka?"
"Oh!! Anne! Franz Kafka!" the man nods and proclaims. Then he gets up, comes around and outside and points to us where to go and says, "Yiddish" and signals that it's on the left side.
We laugh because all I did was say 2 words to get our directions [after trying for so long]. "He didn't understand English, so there's no point in trying to speak it to him," I said.
For all curious, Franz Kafka is on the left side by gate #4 and sign marked #22.

KAFKAAAAAAA
I am a vermin. Angelica is the father. Metamorphing isn't as cool as it sounds! My psyche still suffers. If you don't get it, that's O.K.
In front of David Cerny's in/famous "Piss Scuplture" right before entering the Kafka Museum!! They're pissing into a pool in the shape of the Czech Republic! P.S.: The butts move and their magical devices (as we'll call it) go up-and-down and side-to-side.

FRANZ KAFKA's RESIDENCE BEHIND US!!! Now we know what that building is after visiting the museum! Hahaha. It's medieval, and it's not painted--those are carvings, but you would have never known!!

From Prague
I just really wanted to share how amazing this table is! Dining would be easy...if you're lacking some silverware...just tear one off! Amusez-vous bien mes amis!! :)

More Pics from Prague Day 2

We realized this day marked the 40th anniversary of the Soviet invasion of Prague. That's why so many cars with the E.U. logo drove down the tiny, cobblestone streets!

Brand new shoes after 1 day trekking Prague's rocks. Still comfy...you know me...I can do anything in heels hahaha. Actually, wearing wedges in Prague was more comfortable for me because my flats got stuck in the cobblestones that were higher sometimes, but I felt bad for my poor shoes after only a day and decided to salvage what's left and save them for Paris hahaha!

Hahahaa they knew I was taking a picture and just really wanted to stand there next to Angelica. This was truly an "awkward picture day" for Angelica...seemed like a trend that random people suddenly stop walking and just stand there right next to her to be in the picture!

No guns in the Posta, O.K.?!

This little girl and I matched!!! Hahahaa, she's so adorable!
T

Changing of the guards at noon!

I apologize for maximizing that picture, but I wanted you to see why we felt so sympathetic for the beggars in Prague. We gave money to them every time because they really put their pride and dignity aside to lower themselves so that their head was touching the ground. You don't see this kind of begging in the U.S.

The Jazz Restaurant where we enjoyed dinner with Adam!

I loooooveeeeee the French train stations!!!!

Something about men in uniforms. Probably just the romantic notion that you know they would put you first and risk their life to protect you. Sighhh...plus French military men are extremely cute and have that zexy accent.

The front of my journal! :)
On the way to Prague via train...
